ZOMBIE (THE CRANBERRIES)

Thank you Ada and Cristina, for choosing, and preparing, this great song for today´s class. It gives us the chance to talk about some important events in the history of Ireland.
You can, as usual, comment on the song´s lyrics or video as you see fit. However, I would like to ask a simple question that you could answer easily. Here it goes: The song talks about "...the same old thing since 1916...". What happened in Ireland in 1916?

I like the song and the subject, but I don't like the video. In my opinion, the video is very impact but it shows the reality that the Irishmen lived in the XX century.

  8. This song is powerful and draws respect and opens the eyes of people. Her voice in the song adds to that, sounding so angry and so powerful yet when she talks about the innocent things . The point of the song is about the evils of war, and trying to open peoples eyes. I think that when she says Zombie, she means zombie, as in a mindless zombie with only one goal: War and destruction.

  9. Thank you very much for your comments. I insist on the necessity to revise grammar, and please, don´t use automatic translators (They don´t have brains. You do, so use them).
Also, it would be great if you read other people´s comments, and tried to add new information.
